October (a little late - it's been a busy month)...........
The month to be outdoors...
Nature
[ney-cher]
1. In the broadest sense, is equivalent to the natural, physical, or material world or universe. "Nature" refers to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general. It ranges in scale from the subatomic to the cosmic.
Fall has always been my favorite time of year. The colors, the smells, the chill in the air. It's all so exciting to me each and every year.
Three of our four weekends in October were spent camping. We have had the opportunity to hike, star gaze, cook outdoor, and spend time with friends.
Nature is an amazing thing. Each season there are new things to appreciate.
Our first weekend was spent at MVOR on the Niangua River. Great times. Listening to the Ben Miller Band, dancing, hiking to a natural tunnel. Being with friends from near and far.
Next up, camping on the St. Francois. The tradition of Schmittfest begins. Winery, campfire, sauna.
Being with friends from near and far. Thanks to Tony and Mary for such a great weekend.
Next..... Girls Weekend in Marthasville. Hiking, mushrooms, LOTS of food, lots of girl talk. we star gazed, we cooked, we stayed up too late. Thanks to Lisa and Romie and Lisa's brother and sister-in-law for letting us use their property.
And finally, a Halloween Party! Even though it "technically" was on November 1st, we were celebrating Halloween. :-) Good people that love nature, hanging out by a firepit, dressed in every type of costume imaginable. Thanks to Chuck and Sue for another great time!
Nature is such a wonderful, giving experience. I appreciate every star, every blade of grass, every drop of water. Nature has also been a common bond between all of the people in my life and I appreciate every one of them also.
