On January 19th the Virginia house sold. After 10 years of owning this house it was time for it to go.
It was such a bittersweet parting. I have so many good memories in this house....... a lot that included Jim. One of our first memories together at this house included jambalaya and Jim missing a flight he was supposed to be on for work. Oops. He spent the night with me instead. Then there was the time that we were moving me out and moving me into Jim's house. We were taking items out to the alley that we wanted to dispose of. We would put them in the alley, walk back to the house and watch people come and take them. We laughed at the time but inside I was actually glad they were going to someone.
The memories of owning my own home was on my mind also. Making it what I wanted. Living in the city, knowing the neighbors, throwing parties, planting flowers in MY yard. The house is now gone but the memories will always be there. What a pain in the rear to dispose of it (that's a whole other story though!).

And then there was the Turnpike Troubadours concert. What a blast! There were 8 of us that went as a group. So much fun! Sam ended up finding us a reserved private spot that allowed us to watch the concert with a great view of the band, dance our hearts out and have access to a private waitress.
Chinese New Year brought another fun night. We celebrated with the Hart family at Farwig Farm and had a great time! A fabulous dinner prepared by Anna and lantern fireworks followed. It was a great evening!
The February Speaker's Series at Powell Hall featured General Martin Dempsey. Wow! Such an intelligent man. Again, we had front row seats. General Dempsey's wife was a row behind us and you could see her glowing as he spoke. He was not only intelligent, he was extremely funny. Yet another fabulous night.
Other events that led up to this mid-March post......

She also had her first father/daughter dance with David. Her first one. And Jim had his senior father/daughter dance with Jaimey.

We also had the pleasure of having our nephew and niece over to the Union house. It was so good to see Don Paul and Shannon. Love these two so much. We plan to have the entire Lewis family over for a barbecue sometime in the near future and catch up with everyone.
Life is changing and we are experiencing so many wonderful things. Chuck and Sue have visited, Elaine and Paul have visited, Anna and I have begun our garden, Jim and Korey have worked on a variety of things, Jim has mole hunted (yes, really). We have seen beautiful sunsets and wonderful sunrises with the birds on the bird feeders. It just keeps getting better!
