2015 - My Year of Zen
January 8, 2015

Do you ever have one of those days where you're bee bopping along doing your day to day activities, things you do almost every day, when suddenly it hits you.

"Wow, I'm so lucky"

You realize how blessed your life is.  I've been saying that 2015 is going to be my year. That includes being appreciative for all the wonderful things in my life.

Today I had a stressful day at work.  End of year numbers, new hires, performance evaluations, plans for the office for 2015.  Normal things that come around every year yet still stressful. To top it off, the temperature was about 10 degrees.  bbrrrrrr..   I am not a cold weather person.

I decided on my way home to call a girlfriend.  We had a wonderful talk.  Every time I talk to her it confirms how much we have in common and how lucky I am to have her in my life. Our beliefs, our hobbies, even our taste in foods run parallel.  She completely took my mind off my work troubles and made me smile.  Blessing number one for the day.

I made it home without freezing (thank God for seat heaters) and got comfy.  I pulled out my laptop and began working on a few things I had brought home to complete.  When I was finished I realized I had not returned a call from another girlfriend.

Blessing two of my evening:   I called and talked to yet another one of my friends that I am so connected to.  I don't talk to her often but every time we talk, I realize how much I cherish her as a person and a friend.  We talked for quite some time and I enjoyed every minute of it. We discussed her yoga classes that I will be joining and our spirituality.

After I hung up with her I had this immense feeling of gratitude.  I had great conversations with two dear friends that I enjoy so much.  Their laughter, their knowledge and their appreciation for life!

Girlfriends are so important in life.  I hope that every female reading this has a group of girlfriends they can laugh with and share their stories.  And I hope you all appreciate what you have. :-)

Now, for the even better news... My best, best friend (Jim) will be home soon from his trip to Texas.  Blessing number Three!  Life is Good!

P.S.  If you're wondering what the photo above has to do with anything, I've found that the Warrior Pose is my favorite yoga pose............ so far.  :-)

MOVE MORE AND RELAX MORE
It's all about balance
