LANIGAN'S TRAVELS

December .......

Here it is the end of another year.  December has been another good month full of new experiences and and new adventures.

Jim and I have pretty much stayed in town this month so my travel this month has been through my readings.

In the past few months I have been doing a lot of, well, soul searching.  Yes, I actually used that old term.  But it's true.  Even at my age, people can keep learning about themselves.  Especially at year end when you are reflecting on your month, year, life.....

This month my readings and adventures have taken me a variety of places that are special to me.
- Art
- Nature
- Sustainability
- Health
- Nutrition
- FRIENDS

I've always said all of these were important to me but as time goes on, they continue to become more important.

Art:
I have friends that are very artistic and I so appreciate their talent.  Lisa Frick, Shelly Bequette, Ashley Sikorski are among that group.  This month I was lucky enough to be included in a piece of art created by Shelly.

Nature/Sustainability:
So many of my friends, including my husband are nature-a-holics.  My kind of people!  The woods are where I am happiest.  Getting my zen on.   The quiet of a forest or a mountaintop are the most peaceful places to me.

Health:

I have read so much this month on health/nutrition/exercise and loved every moment.
I am learning the extent to which we are poisoning our own bodies with the food we eat.  I am learning that "You got to Move It, Move It".  I'm learning that it's easy to find ways to eat healthier and exercise more.  I'm learning that stress affects your body much more than people think.
Taking care of yourself means watching being mindful of the food you eat, making sure you are getting enough exercise and most importantly, finding your true self and loving that person!  This message below is from a website I recently found   The Balanced Blonde .  What an inspiration!

Friends:

Love your friends, Cherish your friends and tell your friends how you feel about them.  This month I have spent a lot of time with friends and family.  Parties, my sister-in-law's graduation for her Master's, holiday parties and just hanging out.

I am known for saying Life is Good!  This is not just something I say, this is true.  For each and every one of us.

I wish the best for each of you in 2015.  Go out and enjoy!  Remember to stay healthy, appreciate mother Earth, exercise and tell your friends and family how much you love them.  Often!
