Babies are wonderful little beings. Every day they learn something new.
In a short six months my granddaughter Isabelle has learned so much.
She has learned to roll over, to crawl and most importantly, she learned that if she coughs (she has an adorable fake cough) her mommy will stop whatever she is doing to give her attention.
I was holding her and my son walked up and said something to me. She immediately recognized him and forgot all about me. She has learned to recognize her mommy and daddy!
It's amazing to watch her play with her toes. She just learned about her toes and she loves to play with them!
She has learned if she sees something she wants to play with, she can go to it. You can see the determination in her eyes as she lunges forward to get one of her toys and you can feel the sense of accomplishment when she grabs hold of it.
She wants to walk so badly and practiced her leg strengthening exercises on my stomach this week! Soon she will be walking around and the world will be hers.
As a baby there are so many things to learn. I think the thing babies learn most is trust. Trust they will be fed, bathed and kept warm. This is when we initially learn to trust we are loved!
