Our Mid European Vacation - Our last day

July 12, 2016

We planned today prior to ever leaving the US.  We wanted our last day to end on a positive note. What better place than the Neuschwanstein Castle.  The castle that Disney designed, well....... Disney after.

We are up and at 'em early.  It's going to be a long day.  We head out.  We know we have to drive to the Castle and pick up our tickets by a specific time.  After we pick up our tickets we have to get to the Castle in time for our tour.  We can either.......a) walk, b) take a bus or c) take a horse carriage.  Once we arrive and get our tickets, we choose the bus.

To go backward just for a moment..............  Jim drops me off in front of the ticket line to go get our tickets.  The tickets were pre-ordered and reserved but we have to get the actual tickets once we get here and give them our reservation receipts.

I jump out of the car and let Jim go park.  We both end up finishing our duties at the same time and end up in the same place.  While contemplating how to get to the Castle, we realize we have left the umbrella and the rain ponchos in the car.  Jim says it quite a hike to get to the car.  We look at the weather and decide we will be fine without them.  The rain is gone.

You all know the next part of the story.............................  we take the bus to the point where we have to get off and walk ........................... IT IS RAINING!  We are the people without umbrellas, ponchos, etc.......

We run/walk/jump through puddles for about 10 minutes until we get to the top of the road where the Castle is.  Imagine. It stops raining.

We have a fabulous tour through the castle.  It is stunning!

Our day ends up being a memorable time and we are smiling and laughing.

We leave the castle in good spirits and head back to Munich.

This is our last evening and we decide to go back to the Haufbrauhaus.  It is raining off and on but we find a spot outside that is under cover and we have a wonderful evening.

Our last night.

Life is good.
