Excitement!

2015 - My Year of Zen
February 16, 2015

I think if I had one message to spread, it would be this...KEEP IT EXCITING!  ALWAYS!

Jim and I live an exciting life whether we are at home or traveling abroad.  It's not about "what" we do, it's about our appreciation of what we are doing.

Words we may  use when we are "Keeping it Exciting" could be words like:
Astonishing (Music venues)
Breathtaking (Sunsets, Colorado, Alaska),
Impressive (planting my herb garden)
Intriguing (new sustainability ideas)
Lively (bike riding, hiking)
Stimulating (a good mystery book)
Arousing (friends)
Melodramatic (me, sometimes)

As you can tell, we don't have to spend money to to Keep it Exciting.

This morning I looked out at the snow and saw our bird feeders were filled with an amazing variety of birds.  Flickers, finches, chickadees.  Exciting.

Yoga is something very new to me but I have already learned so much and that is Exciting!

Last weekend we went hiking with Gail and Mark in Edwardsville.
Yesterday we were able to have lunch with dear friends that were in town from Atlanta.
Last week Jim took Jaimey to her Father - Daughter dance at school.
Exciting, Exciting, Exciting!

Spring will be here soon. The flowers will begin to bloom, the birds will be singing and the sun will shine brighter and longer. This opens up many opportunities for exciting times.  I know we will be camping, biking, hiking, attending concerts, and visiting friends.  I will plant a garden, take photos and appreciate life.  Each of these will be exciting!

So this is a reminder to everyone to enjoy life.  Move. Smile. Love. Dance. Watch the sunrise.  Watch the sunset. Plant a flower.  Excitement is in the eye of the beholder.  Behold the excitement. I hope to share some excitement with each of you soon.

Below are some other ideas that you may find will bring added excitement to your life:
- Spend time with your grandkids
- Spend time with friends
- Paint something
- Sing out loud
- Take a walk
- Plant a flower

It's all about the journey!

"Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success.  When you do a thing, do it with all your might.  Put your whole soul into it.  Stamp it with your own personality.  Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object.  Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm"
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
